There are other ways to make your mark in this world. When I was younger (3rd grade) I used to wish I would get cancer because one of my classmates had it and died. Everyone mourned her and I wanted that kind of attention. Now I am a nurse, the positive attention I get from thankful families and patients is far more gratifying than the pity I would have recieved if I actually had gotten cancer. And, as a bonus, I'm still alive!
