yes, I broke our engagement at the last moment. But I loved you then, I always loved you, and I still do. Almost never has a day gone by that I didn't think of you. Why did I break our engagement. I was having anxiety. I felt I wasn't good enough, that I might not be good for you somehow and you wouldn't reach your full potential. I never told you any of this also because I don't want to complicate your life.

you should tell him/her.. don`t you think that if he/she didn`t know what a wonderful person you are and loved you for that, seen you as the person to grow old with he/she wouldn`t have proposed marriage? you might not be perfect, but nobody is. and don`t you think that by backing up in the last moment you have complicated his/her life? you owe that person at least a proper explanation for what you did. who knows, maybe things can be fixed after all if you both want to.
