my ex didn't want to be with me but stayed - i wish he had told me as soon as he started feeling unhappy so we could've have sorted stuff out or not had the farce go on for so long.

well in my opinion as a girl who wouldn't want to have a guy who isn't happy with me; I think that you should just tell her that you aren't happy. Don't lead her on, because later on it will be worse for her. And if you really love her try to work things out with her, other wise find someone else that you'll be happy with and let her do the same. She'll be sad, but it's probably for the best in the end...

be strong let her go. my brother went through the samething. it sucked but they were young and he really didn't have feelings for her. she was upset for awhile but thing are good now. right now think about yourself and make yourself happy.

Is it sorrow or guilt? If you miss her and love her, try to work it out. If you're only with her because she loves you, break it off. It will hurt her, but a one-sided relationship can only end in bitterness.
