When I was 12, I walked in on my mother having sex with a man who wasn't my Father. She lied and said that her and my dad had decided to have sexual experiences outside of the relationship, because my dad had only slept with her and wanted to try something new.
My aunt confirmed this was a lie.
My mom is dead now and I can never talk to her about it, or ever mention it to my dad.

Wow, I hope you arm yourself with this knowledge and pledge to never cheat on your future spouse. If it doesn't work - divorce and start over. Anything else is disrespectful and pathetic.

This is terrible to say, but don't worry about it. I know it's hard. Parents are often put on a pedestal in the eyes of their children. But they're just people. It's so wrong that she did that, but like the other person said, just use it as a learning experience... See how much pain it causes when someone cheats...
If she was a good person otherwise, then don't hold it against her... You never know what people think, I guess. Who knows why she did it.
