Battered Lover

My ex boyfriend used to hit me alot. whenever i talked to a guy, wore an "inappropriate shirt", talked back, stand up for my self, or just disagree with him, i would get it across the face. he would punch my back, choke me, force me to do things to him, to have sex with him. ripped my clothes, broke my phone...and my nose. threw a knife at my leg, luckily only the handle it me...left a giant bruise that never completely went away. threw me against walls, down the stairs, broke my make up, almost killed me. he always accused me of cheating...turns out he was cheating on me. but i still love him. i know that if i dont love him, i will be consumed with hate. now he wants me back. i was so close because he seemed so sincere....but then i look at my scarred body and realize that no matter how bad these scars look, the worst one he left me is on my heart. im never going back to him.

He has abused you and is a criminal. He is completely wrong for doing this to you, do not let him swindle his way back into an abusive relationship. In order to love you must love yourself, and recognize that you deserve to be free from abuse. You are right to love him, but do so from a distance and apart from a relationship. Pray for him, and let God heal you. He will continue to abuse you if you get back in a relationship, and probably even if you keep communication open with him. The police are always a phone call away, do not feel like you must endure abuse.

Never go back to him. And don't talk to him. Change phone number, everything. I was in a relationship like this and when I got out, I was the happiest I had ever been. Then my best friend dated him, even though she saw what I went threw. Taking him back would be stupid.
