Brand Name College

I am decided between two colleges, both great schools, but one more competitive. I am hoping to get into the more competitive one because I think it will make me sound smarter when I tell people where I go to school. But I think I honestly like the safety school better.

My entire family (and most friends)want me to go to my reach school if I get in. I don't know what to do.

I wanted the same thing. I was looking to get an Ivy and got waitlisted, so I ended up going to my safety. It's the best thing that ever happened to me. You can get a great education anywhere but you have to make it the best one you can get because even if you are sitting in Yale and you don't do anything you would be better of at another school. If you hate it then you won't actually learn anything. An thats what college is about, when you are applying to grad school thay don't really care where you came from, its what you have done that matters. And by the way going to a school to impress someone else is the worst thing you can do, you have to make yourself happy.
