Cheating in school wrecked my life

Meandering down empty school hallways alone seems so cool, especially if you're only in grade 3. Back then, I had to go to the grade 4 class to get reading tests. Walking back, I would look at the answer key and then cheat when answering the quiz. I did this for 6 months. They thought I was super smart and next year, the school skipped me into grade 5. No-one told me I was getting skipped; one day, the teacher said I had to take my desk to the class next door. I didn't know what was going on. I felt totally out of place, the work seemed harder and everyone seemed so much smarter. It took me a few days before I figured out I was in grade 5. I felt I hadn't deserved it because I cheated my way into grade. I've always felt inadequate and scared. I was gripped by fear ever since then and it's wrecked my life.
