my dad doesnt believe i am capable of achieving my dreams, and he tells me all the time....im starting to believe him...the worst part is that i dont have a back up plan for when i do fail

believe in your dreams sweetheart, everyone is capable of accomplishing their dreams if they try hard enough, don't let people tell you otherwise. If you are that passionate, go for whatever it is, it WILL happen if you try hard enough

who said you were going to fail, anyway? if your dad is unhappy with his accomplishments, play him a verysmall violin, tell him very kindly but firmly to keep his negativity to himself, and get back out there. time is of the essence. for back up plans, start identifying all those natural skills you forgot about. you know, those gifts you've had since the day you could walk? like rhyming? piano? organizational skills? cooking? you were (given/chose) natural gifts when you entered this lifetime. cash in on them. pay NO attention to naysayers. even if they are close to you. you dont have the time to listen to that crap.

All of us will inevitably fail...its not important. Because eventually we will get what we want in the end. Don't listen to your dad...only you truly know what is possible!

I have the same conversations with my Dad. Hold on to what confidence and courage you have left and go for it but remember to pray with your legs, Dreams won't materialise if you don't act on them!
Oh, in the common sense department, try and sort out that backup plan!

QUIT thinking you will fail, believe in yourself, surround yourself with good kind, strong perople. don't give your father that much power over you to make you doubt yourself. my father made fun of me when i was in high school and i felt horrible about myself, when i got a job and got away i went to work on myself and got contacts, lost weight, did my hair with highlight, went to dillards and they taught me to do perfect make up and best of all i found a little dog in a trash can and took her home and met some wonderful people walking her and taking her to the dog park, but my fathers ugly words hurt even now when he has been in the grace for 3 years,believe in yourself, don't let anyone take away your dreams
