I don't understand why everyone thinks humans are so important. The sooner the planet is devastated and we are pretty near wiped out, the sooner it can start to heal and rebuild.

Unfortunely, chances are that global warming won't kill the whole human race. Rich countries won't have so much of a problem (besides economic) with it, poor countries on the other hand will suffer with it, as they always did since the start of imperialism. The irony is that those who make global warming problematic (global warming is a natural and necessary process, but we screwed it) will suffer the least.
