he cheated

I think my dad cheated on my mom about a month ago. I was playing with his cell phone and he had txt messages saying that the woman wasnt able to meet because she had to take her elderly father to the hospital. it was signed, kisses<3. I'm scared to confront him or tell my mom. I'm too young to be hiding this secret. But if I tell, it will ruin my mother, myself, my litte brother, and my father.

True, but your dad needs to know you know. He is your romodel and you probably feel like he's let you down, and yet you still love him. If this cheating thing is serious, he'll end up leaving anyways eventually. Whether that means having two lives and not being present, or actually just packing up. But by telling him you make him understand the consequences of his actions and give him the chance to make the right choice. But whatever you do, don't threaten to tell mom. Either do it or don't but I think it would be better to let him know you know first.

bring it up at the dinner table as a topic to discuss, make it about some kid in your school you don't really know - late transfer. Let your parents discuss it and start guilting up your dad. Then get all schmoozy and tell both parents how much you love them and want them around you forever. If this doesn't get through than privately tell your dad that you think cell phones are neat and text messages can be very interesting - then walk away and go to the bathroom, don't let him order you to come back and discuss and don't buy the 'wrong number'
