I'm in love, but it kills me

I love my current boyfriend. If he asked me to marry him right now, I would, no questions asked, just would. He loves me too, but I know he doesn't love me as much as I love him. I know that after he goes on this trip this summer, that he'll be leaving me for good. Everyone says I'm crazy, that he really loves me, and that it'll all be ok when he gets back. He told me that while he's gone we're gonna go on a break...people like me (who loves him more than ANYTHING), don't go on breaks, we say we will, and then we get our heart broken with a break-up. I don't know what to do anymore. I said that when we went on break I wasn't planning on seeing anyone, but recently I found a guy I kind of like, so I'm going to try dating him while my boyfriend is gone. I love him, but I think it's time to let go. :(

This hits horribly close to home... The only thing is, It's been a year and a half and I refuse to date ever again. I refuse to let myself get hurt again. I still love him more than life itself, but I know he's not mine... What's worse, is he still tries to be my man, even though I know he isn't anymore. He's so sweet, but half the time he's a total a__ and I just want to beat him half to death.

Maybe you're right, try and let him go. I can't imagine how you're feeling, it makes me so sad to think about that. It's gonna be so hard to let him go, but you will get through it. I promise.

Its a hard situation, but Im a guy and found myself kind of where u are. Unfortunatly I never had the balls to go for another girl while I was with her because i loved her so damn much even though she "loved" me, but not as much as I loved her. Anyway she ended up cheating on me and it broke my heart. Find someone who you will be on equal footing with.
