I love my best friend

I love my best friend. He has a girlfriend. Whenever I think of them together it makes me feel sick. Sometimes I cry so much that I feel like something inside of me it dying. I hate his girlfriend even though Ive never met her and she actually seems quite nice. What makes it worse is that at one point there was a realistic chance of us getting together (Im not dreaming, it was realistic). And when I think about when we were close it just breaks me. He doesnt know how I feel. At least I dont think he does. Its hard to act apathy when all you feel is love.

Girlfriends come and go. True friends last a lifetime. Be his friend first and foremost and when he's in a relationship that means JUST being a friend and not letting it go further no matter how badly you would like it. When the relationship ends let him know how you feel and try to move things in that direction, men are dullards when it comes to hints and such, it doesn't work. Be direct. Regardless of what happens in the future, treasure your friendship for what it is.

I've twice had this same problem. The first friend I fell for has a girlfriend now, and I feel sick with myself wanting him when he's already taken. The girl he's going out with is my friend, too, and I'd feel too guilty. But now I'm back on the crush I've had several times before, but keep trying to forget. My best friend. The thing is, I've heard he and another friend of mine are flirting and dropping hints, and plan on 'sealing the deal' on Valentine's Day. So I wrote him an email explaining all my feelings. It may seem cowardly not to do it to his face, but at least he now has the option of pretending he still doesn't know. Which is fine with me, as long as he DOES know. You have to tell him how you feel. Please, you will feel so much better. Who knows, you may change his mind. Even if you don't you'll be proud of yourself that you at least fought for him.

This is my problem! I do believe that my friend and I are meant to be. If I told him my feelings, the best case scenario would be that he'd break up with the girlfriend and be with me, right? But then when problems invariably arise between us, I don't want him to regret his choice. His relationship has to end on its own time, without my interference. And if we are meant to be, we will be. And if we don't, we won't. In the meantime, I have to be patient and wait and keep meeting other people-- to keep checking my feelings, to be somewhat open, and just for fun.

Maybe you should just tell him how you feel about him. There is a chance he might like you too.
What do you want to do in live? Keep struggling with the fact that you're in love with him, or get it over with, see how he reacts.
2 things can happen:
1. he loves you
2. he doesn't love

When 1, he has to make a choice between you and his girlfriend. When 2, how hard that is, look for another person. There are plenty of fish in the sea :).
That you hate his girlfriend is normal, we all can be jealous sometimes right.
