I steal shirt buttons.

I have this game that I have been playing for almost 10 years. Whenever a guy talks to me, I try to get a button or piece of his shirt, pants or shoes. I have these tiny sewing scissors that I carry around with me.
I am not making this up - it started when I was in 8th grade. It was originally a dare from a friend that became a contest between us all through school. She has probably stopped but I have not. I get a huge thrill from talking to guys and distracting them while I steal a button or whatever.
I don't mean to brag but I have become very very skilled at this game. I recently stole a button from a police officer cuff and it was all I could do to stop myself from stealing his hand cuffs.
I feel like my obsession might be turning into something else because I find myself tempted to try to steal id for an extra challenge.

Another thing I do is put things in people pockets . If a guy is too agressive or obnoxious, I love to dump an ashtray, ice, salt or a drink in his pocket without getting noticed.

Keep it at something small and simple, that's part of the beauty of the game itself. Stealing an id is what a thief does and will hurt the person a lot because of the hassles of replacing things and having old ones negated. Stealing a button is a small keepsake and something they're not going to get to upset about even if they find out.

haha, as long as you know that stealing things like wallets money or i.d's is wrong I'd say its just a harmless quirk about you.
I'd say when you're tempted to steal, you should give them something. Like slip notes into their pockets or something.

Somewhere in my old-fashioned archives...lol..yes, d'ol brain pan, I seem to recall this as a flirtatious custom of girls way back when. When I attempted to look it up online, I dead ended. However, it runs through my head concurrent with "Little Women" and stories such as. When the girls collected enough buttons, they would create button dolls or necklaces of the "trophy" buttons.

I have to agree that the ID temptation is one you really must resist. That is in a class totally different than this one...

It really is too bad that the victims of the misbegotten buttons didn't know this origin as well...Would prove quite entertaining, upon arriving home to undress and finding that someone somewhere found him attractive that day. Then, to ponder the possibilities throughout the evening and beyond. What a thrill! If they knew this origin, it would be a enigma and an ego boost rather than simply a minor inconvenience!

Stick to the buttons, gal! And do make yourself a "trophy piece"! If you have a daughter, pass this along...Neat to revive days-gone-by customs such as this and, of course, calling and dance cards!

That's hilarious, you're amazing if you can get away with it everytime.
I love that, it's completely nuts.
My fiance said that if anyone had done that to him he'd be pissed because he lost a button. Ha ha ha he's cursing now.
It's pretty funny, he's says that it's funny if you do it to anyone else though.

its pretty cool that you are getting so good at this, but you definitely dont want to take it past buttons or small keepsakes. if you're tempted to take money or ids, you should talk to someone about it. if you want to leave them something, leave a little note that will make their day.

Wow. Reading this has helped turn tears of anger/pain into tears of laughter. I LOVE this idea! I think I'll even try to get my friend to play it with me. I always carry sewing scissors with me too, and I think this might be a fun game to play with my friend, especially at concerts and anime conventions....

This isn't cute..or funny..this is horrible! This is mean! Buttons are ok (A inconveniance which I still think isn't good) but cutting pieces of his CLOTHING. You're ruining stuff which costs him money! Don't do it..put things in his pockets if you like..that doesn't damage a thing.
