i was mean to my dog

this morning i was really mad at my dog for going potty in the house, and i was frustrated with her behavior, and i was frustrated with how her and my new dog arent getting along, so i grabbed her collar, held her down, and hit her repeatedly with my shoe. over and over. she cried and screamed, she was very obviously scared, confused, and in pain. i had to force myslef to stop, i wanted to keep going, to keep hitting her.
i feel so terrible for even laying a hand on my poor helpless puppy. im afraid that now she will always be afraid or me, or remember it, and hate me. im so sorry. the guilt i am feeling right now is overwhelming.

Your dog will probably remember it, which is sad. But she will also forgive you, and love you just as much as she always has. That's why dogs are man's best friend, because they will always forgive. On the other hand, you should talk to someone you trust if it ever happens again, or if you ever feel like you're going to beat your dog.

Dogs can sense feelings. I'm sure if you are extra sweet to her, she will be fine.

It`s ok to feel guilt for something u know was wrong. Just never take your fustration over the animal by being bean to it. Just by a stress ball those always work! Good luck!
