I cheated on someone because I was too afraid to let her love me. Now it's over and she has moved on. I don't know how to let go of my guilt and 'what might have been'. For almost a year after she went with someone else seriously, she still contacted me. Now she doesn't nor do I. I have wished her well but my heart still aches for the things I want to give her and share with her.

The best thing you could probably do, if you haven't already, is to let her know exactly how much this hurt you. Just out of the blue, contact her and let her know. I doubt anything will work out between the two of you, but you'd be easing both your heart and hers. Trust me on this. I only wish my ex would do that exact thing for me.
Remember, you hurt someone with your actions, at least let this be a learning point for you.

She was the one and you blew it, even if you somehow reconnected she'd always harbor that doubt of your intentions. When the next best thing shows up, hold on for dear life and make it work for the best. I too let 'the one' get away because I thought we were too serious too soon, now I'm locked into a relationship with someone who openly wonders if the single life is better - six years, zero kids later - where did the fun go :( ...
