Love and Trust

Up until a month ago, I didn't believe any of the cliches about love. I didn't believe that your stomach flipped inside out when he kissed you. I didn't believe it could make you feel like your heart was bleeding when you realised it could never work.

Then I kissed my best friend a month ago, and my stomach flipped inside out.

And a month ago, he told me he wouldn't go out with me because he knew I didn't date non-Christians. And because he knew I deserved better than him.

I've cried myself to sleep every night for a month, because it feels like my heart is bleeding.

I'm finding it hard to trust God right now, but my faith in God will never change. I trust that one night soon I won't cry myself to sleep. I trust that soon I'll stop bleeding. I trust that soon I won't love Sam the way I love him now.

I trust that someone else will make my stomach flip inside out, and that he will never hurt me.
