Love?

I'm crazy about this new girl, but she seems interested in this guy who's a complete jerk-off, i'm not sure if shes sending me signals or not, and i don't want to be that creepy guy that stands on the boarderline of obsession and vulnerablitly. I hate being alone, but I also hate letting myself be vulnerable to new people. I just wish that I could tell her how i feel, and be ok with whatever her response, but I don't think I can because I don't want to lose this new friendship either. I really have no idea what to do, do i just continue this friendship until this other guy is out of the picture or what?
