There was a period where my wife was terribly jealous without apparent reasons. Once she walked by (I think wihtout her glasses on) and asked "Who is that Verdana you're writing to?". Later she claimed that she was joking. After that I started talking about Verdana and making jokes. - "What did you do today?" - "Verdana called. She was sad so she asked me to come by and comfort her."... I don't think joking about it is really a good method to handle it - it depends on person. I was kind of lucky. After our first child was born the whole thing phased out.
