I grew up with such feelings and didn't seek help until I was well into adulthood. By then the damage was already done. Don't tell anyone you think will laugh at you because that's the last thing you need. There are many adult service people who would sincerely love to help you. What about your school guidance counselor, minister, or calling a help line? Best wishes and don't give up hope!

If the people you tell laugh at you, you must hide it well. Only you know what you are feeling.
Go to the doctor.
I was depressed for 3 years after my mom died.. and I was only 14 at the time. I'm so much better now at 19. I know you probably think I am too young, but trust me, age isn't a factor.
I was just telling a friend the other day I haven't been this consistently happy for this amount of time.. ever.
Talk to a shrink about it, just to get everything out. They will be willing to listen and help you any way they can. Sometime you just have to let it all out and scream at the top of your lungs.

i know how you feel, i asked my mom for help and she told me to stop being dramatic... it's like theres a big ball of rage growing in me and someday i will erupt. the worst part is i'm afraid to tell my boyfriend because i think he might leave me for being crazy. if you have to, seek out help yourself without anyones help, it'll be hard but you owe it to yourself.

A lot of times people (young and old) become confused and scared by what they see, hear, read. Consult a psychiatrist at a free clinic and get a professional opinion. But don't research the symptons any further or else you'll cloud the tests and skew the results. good luck

You need to speak to your guidance counselor at school. Also, let the counselor know your mom brushed it off, so perhaps they can emphasize to her the importance of seeking help for you.

i don't understand why people laugh at you? being depressed isn't a laughing matter. tell your mom and everyone who laughs at you that you're serious and you want to go to a doctor or something to get a diagnosis.
