Versus

I don't understand it at all. When my closest grandfather, amazing and honest and supportive died from a painful fight with mesothelioma, I didn't shed a tear. My whole family bawled around me, and I couldn't even cry.

Just recently, my aunt's dog, a beautiful, gentle pitbull with a personality that can never be mimicked died too, peacefully of a ruptured tumor on her spleen. Toxins poisoned her, and she had to be put down and I cried and screamed and couldn't be shut up.

Is there something wrong with this? How I can't seem to cry for my relatives, but go into hysterics for pets and animals?
