Why do i love him?

I am totaly in love with one of my best friends. Every time he talks my heart starts going a mile a minute and a turn all red. It's a wonder he doesn't notice. But, i can't find out why i feel like this! He's so arrogant(and doesn't ccare, by the way) and condescending and think he owns the world. I can't stand him whenever he gets like this, but at the EXACT SAME TIME i'm falling head over heels. *sigh* Even if i told him he'd either 1) laugh and i'd never be able to look at him again, or 2) say "what? joking, right?" and i'd be like ".......ya,....i'm totally joking." and then be depressed. And it's not like anything could happen. Ever. The more i try to get over him, the more in love with him i am. and plus, he's my friend, so i've already passed the stage where we can be together. I-....... I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do.
