you'll know when BOTH are you are ready for marriage. it doenst just happen - hes talking about it with you so you know he wants to. if the relationship is strong after 3 years this is normally a good indication that you are both ready. 5 years is the longest i would wait, though. make sure you are settled in a life together: i.e you have moved in together and know that you are both financially and emotionally secure. marriage is a life long commitment between TWO people. ask yourself, are you really ready yet?
