I'm gay. Nobody knows but me. I feel as if i will be treated differently and be seen as a failure if I come out.

You have nothing to be ashamed of. My older brother came out of the closet a few years back, and I know for a fact that I don't view him as a failure or treat him any differently than when we were kids.
Keep this in mind. If anyone were to stigmatize you for this, they aren't the type of people you want, or need, to be around. Find others who are accepting and live your life.

your true friends will always love you for you, remember that. You cant change the way you are, and you should never want to. The people that leave and walk away werent your true friends to begin with and arent worthy of your friendship. Good luck to you, i hope that the best what could happen will and that your friends will still love you. Your not a failure for who you are. dont be afraid to stand out. maybe you should join a support group?

Omg you sound just like my friend. Ok, I'm a Lesbian and honestly, like, no one really cares. You will be shocked how much they just don't care. There will probably be a couple that are a little aprehensive, but if they can't accept you how you are, they were never your friends to begin with. And there will always be homophobic pricks out there. But hey, there are people who still hate women and black people and immigrants... They can just get the f___ over it.

I would love to say that you should screw the consequences and come out no matter what, but that really can be dangerous. Depending on where you live or who your parents are, you could be harassed, kicked out of your house, or physically beaten. If the place you live in is fairly accepting, I say go for it. If it isn't, you might want to wait until you move out or go to college. Hiding for those years will hurt, but coming out could hurt you more DEPENDING ON THE SITUATION. The situation you are in is key.
